  • 2 wrote notes to a few, like Miss Welch, who would especially be glad to get them. She is 94 years old. Elwyn sent a snap shot of his ranch showing the new house & other new buildings. The house has a bath room & the other comforts & he says now there is plenty of room for company. This makes me feel that things have eased up for him. Lots of love all around & an especial big bit for you from Mama. Christmas Gifts. What do you give for Christmas? A trinket easy to buy, A sort of return for the gift That came, last year, from the other guy. A kindly smile for the stranger Who passes along the road. A helping hand to the weary ones Who carry a heavy load. To the soul in distress a word of hope That will lighten each lonely day. A bit of strength to the erring feet That are wandering far astray. A thought to the message of Peace and Good Will From the Christ born in Bethlehem. Which do you give to Christmas? L.M.K. Christmas 1937
