  • Ferguson thinks that maybe we had better compromise on his terms. He proposes to give up everything, appeal in Hunt[illegible] & clear all our property for ¼ of the Hunt[illegible] which he seems to think he can gain anyway. I am going out there before long and fish round and find out the very best that can be done. I will not hirt any thing as there is nobody bound by my declarations. J.R.T.
