C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bishop. Inducted May 4, 1941. Trained at Fort Bragg, N. C. ,Fort Sill, Okla., and Camp Cooke, Cal. Served in the European Theatre of War. Discharged Oct. 14 ,1945. TECH. SGT. JESSIE L. BISHOP, Cullowhee, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Grover Bishop and husband of Berneice Reed. Inducted in 37th Rainbow Div. later with 42nd Div., Mar. 15, 1940. Trained at Shofield, Hawaii. Served in the South Pacific Theatre of War. Received Oak Leaf, and Purple Heart. Wounded twice while serving in the Philippines. Discharged Aug. 22, 1945. PFC. NEAL J. BISHOP, Sylva, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bishop. Inducted Dec. 6, 1942. Trained at Camp Crowder, Mo., and Camp Reynolds, Fla. Served in the European Theatre of War. Citations or medals: EAMET Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Distinguished Unit Badge, Combat Infantry Badge. Discharged Oct. 20, 1945. SGT. WILLIAM H. BISHOP, Sylva, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Bishop and husband of Florence J. Bishop. Inducted Jan. 7, 1943. Trained at Camp Davis, N. C, Orlando, Fla., Camp Stewart, Ga., Salina, Kan., Fort Benning, Ga. Discharged Dec. 3, 1945. CHIEF B. M. ARTHUR RUSSELL BRADLEY, Cullowhee, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Bradley and husband of Esther Cline Bradley. Inducted April 28, 1924. Trained at Norfolk, Va. Served on Pacific Coast.* Served in U. S. Navy since 1924. During the war served aboard U. S. S. Cuyama, U. S. Alaskan Campaign, Solomon Island Campaign, Saipan ,Tinia, and Guam. PFC. CHARLES MARSHALL BROWN, Argua, N. C, son of Claude and Bertie Brown. Inducted in U. S. Infantry, 351 APO 88, 88 Div., Known as Blue Devils, Feb. 28, 1945. Trained at Fort Bragg, N. C, Camp Croft, S. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Bryson and husband of Pauline Pressley Bryson. Inducted in the Infantry, 351st Bn. 88th Div. Fifth Army, Sept. 1, 1943. Trained at Camp Blanding, Fla., Fort Meade, Md. Served in the Asiatic Theatre of War. Participated in battled of Okinawa, Ihe Shemia, Yohoke Shemia, Aka Shemia, Huba Shemia, Tokiskiki Shemia aboard the U. S. S. Marys. TORPEDOMAN 2/c HUGH N. BRYSON, Cashiers, N. C, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Bryson. Inducted Jan. 19, 1942. Trained at Norfolk, Va., and Melville, R. I. Served in the Asiatic Theatre of War. Participated in battles of Bismarck Sea, New Guinea, New Britain, Fitch Heaven, Laye, and Solomoa as torpedoman on motor torpedo boat.
