  • THE HARIM&OOD BARK **• Hazel Creek "»* P; is t m P 3i||!f»« Club House at our Barrett Operation, Barrett, W. Va. been transferred to Barrett: Howard Davis, Woods Superintendent; W. B. Young, Camp Foreman; J. W. Bryant, Mill Foreman; P. J. Danielson, Yard Foreman; Reece McClanahan, Mill Engineer; P. J. Medlin, Edgerman; Lewis Jones, Trimmerman; M. B. Culbertson, Locomotive Engineer; Joe Hayes, Store Manager; Carl Tincher, Mill Grader; Mason Hoye, Tallyman; Geo. H. Branham, Inspector; Evan Danielson, Inspector; Charlie Mc- Guire, Loaderman; W. H. Cole, Top Loaderman; Carl Wilson, Fireman. The woods operations have been started full blast with the following men in charge—Howard Davis, Superintendent; W. B. Young, and M. B. Sesler, Camp Foreman. Mr. M. B .Culbertson and Carl Wilson arrived at Barrett with locomotive No. 35 from Proctor after being on the road 21 days. School at Barrett is progressing nicely under the supervision of Els- worth White, Principal and W. E. Bradley, Asst. Principal. Andy Robinson, captain on the bus between Barrett and West Junction says the new Ritter operation has caused his passenger receipts to grow by leaps and bonds. Superintendent Harry Johnson is preparing to start an employment and information bureau to take care of the new arrivals who are coming in daily. "Pa" Tudor can be seen almost any time, day or night, going about town ■with a bed, mattress, blankets and pil lows, trying to arrange sleeping quarters for newcomers. Hearts, like doors, will open with ease To very, very little keys, And don't forget that two of these, Are "I thank you" and "If you please." "Laugh that one off," said the tailor as he sewed the fat man's vest button on with a piece of wire. Whenever we suffer from insomnia we try to ihink out good ideas for editorials and in no time at all we are sound asleep. Rev. A. T. Medford, the pond man at Hazel Creek, has been recently transferred to Barrett, West Virginia. Mrs. V. O. Bateman and son, who have spent midwinter at Johnson City, Tennessee, returned to Proctor recently. Mr. Arthur Storie, who has been in charge of the Acid Wood Department since the Band Saw Mill sawed out, has left Hazel Creek for Barrett, West Virginia, where he is to take charge of woods as Camp Foreman. Safety-First Pays Messrs. V. O. Bateman, Store Manager, and Supt. E. B. McCollum, motored to Franklin, South Carolina, recently. Mr. L. C. Carroll, who assisted Mr. Guffy in repairing the fan blower system for a few days in January, left Hazel Creek for other operations in West Virginia. We congratulate Mr. Carrol upon getting the work through in record breaking time. Since the purchase of this property by a realty company in Asheville, North Carolina, we understand that Proctor will be known as the "Smoky Mountain Tourist City" after the W. M. Ritter Lumber Company has completed operations. Arretta and Rebecca, daughters of Joe Cunningham now at McClure. Elizabeth, little sister of Arretta and Rebecca Thirteen
