  • ftlP ^ * P- —^mt**1* J iiiMflHJ'3$ THE MABEN WOODS (1) Virginian & Western Railway Bridge, 98.3 feet high, which crosses over our logging railroad between Maben and Milam Camp. This bridge is near "Uncle John" Sizemore's home. (2) No. this is not the main line of the "Virginian," but is a nice section of our logging railroad at Maben, which Shelby Brooks is responsible for. Can you heat it for a logging road? (3) Engine No. 3, in charge of Tom Brooks. You ought to see the loads "Tommy" brings over the top with her. (4) Just like his Dad—trying to reach the top. Francis H. Hazeltine, Junior, son of our supply man, F. H. Hazeltine, who took these pictures. (5) No. 4 making the second switchback where the Virginian & Western crosses. (6) Milton Gragg, our Engineer, and crew, who is loading up with "mountain dew" enroute to Maben. (7) This new town was built with Ritter lumber—about 600,000 feet of it. It is a coal town (Morrison Coal Company) about 25 miles from Maben. Our logging railroad passes through it. Fourteen
