  • most of us will tramp downstream a few miles then return to the starting point. Since some of our members have complained that we have not explored enough of the streams of the Smokies, and others remind us that we have entirely neglected the section west of Kin- zel Springs and north of Rich Mountain, this should prove a most popular outing. SUMMARY:—Make your reservation for banquet and dance tickets in advance. Leave Dixie System at 5:30 p. m, Saturday. Banquet starts at 7. Take food for Sunday lunch, or have it prepared at the hotel. While the route follows a creek, it is not safe to drink, so take a canteen of water. Cards or letters will be mailed to members a few days before the banquet giving price of the tickets, hotel reservations, etc. Leaders: ROBERT N. CAMPBELL (3-7746) DOROTHY TRAINER (Gatlinburg) OCTOBER 14 and 15 MYSTERY HIKE Our curiosity and our desire to investigate is always aroused at the mere mention of something mysterious. The leaders of this hike promise something that will be worth investigating. This is a mystery hike in that its destination will be kept secret. It will be a trip to some place that the club has not visited. It will be a very outstanding and unusual place. It will be a trip that almost any member of the club can make and one that every member of the club will want to make. It will be a trip that you will remember always and one that you will regret missing if you don't go. 56
