The New Maciiini is two hundred and forty-six feel long, measured from the head box where the paper stoek Hows into the wire, to the winder, where the paper is wound into rolls. One hundred and sixty-eight inches in width, i< will carry a sheel of paper just ten inches narrower, or thirteen feet and two inches \ ld< Its speed adjustments permit it to be run up to ooo feel per minute or as slow as 125 feet per minute. “Glimpses of the Plant of the Champion Fibre Co., Canton, North Carolina" was published in May 1922 as a souvenir booklet. The 38-page booklet provides photographs, descriptions, and processes of the paper plant in Canton. Already a major manufacturing center, Champion Fibre was pictured on postcards early in the century. With its expansion in 1922, Champion Fibre may have been the largest paper plant in the nation, employing over 1,000 men.
