  • “Dick” has a creative mind, and if I could have him as I would like, I think he knows enough Chemistry now, to develop his creative genius, at all events I could teach him what he was deficient in. Let us pray very hard and faithfully that something will develop by next Sept. at least. I too want to see him making more progress than is true at this time. He does seem to be getting much out of his trip out in Washington. He said to me a few weeks ago that he thought he would fit him up a little laboratory out there where he could do some work. I thought it a fine idea. I, no doubt, will have to go to Los Angeles, Calif. this fall, every letter he writes, he is urging me to come on up and see him. I cannot tell whether it will be possible for me to do so or not, I would so much rather see him, much nearer home, He says there is no race prejudice out there and we could have a good time.
