  • June 15, 1936 Mrs. Henry Slagle Franklin, North Carolina My beloved friend, Mrs. Slagle: Thank you for your wonderful letter, which has just reached me. I am sure that it is impossible for you to know just what your visit meant to me. I have always wanted to see you and shake hands with you, as I knew that you were a most re-markable person. Knowing you through your dear son Dick as I do, and what you told me years ago that you dedicated him to the Lord before he was born, so he could not help but be a dear wonderful boy. I was so happy to see his wife, and, as you know, delighted that he is doing so well. I am not surprised, however, The Dupont people put out a very beautiful fast blue, so I am told. I have ^not seen it myself, but those who have seen it say that it is very satisfactory. I should think that a druggist out to be able to tell you the best known blues, in face, the best known dyes for permanency, as they are dealing in those things and keep such supplies. With love and best wishes, I am Very sincerely yours, G.W. Carver. G. W. Carver, Director Research and Experiment Station GWN - enh
