Portrait of Merenda holding one of his dogs, King (The Tea Spiller). He brought King as just one representative of his rescure dogs. He moved to Asheville in 2006 because he liked the people, good attitudes, kindness, music, art, and amazing vegan food. He has stayed because he and his wife, "want to become a part of what makes Asheville so wonderful. We want to keep Asheville wonderful, weird, strange, and friendly." He has no plans to leave unless it turns into another surburbia.
