Faces of Asheville
Faces of Asheville was a two year (2007-2009) photo documentary project developed by photographer and artist Jen G. Bowen to capture the spirit and diversity of the rapidly evolving region. Postcard solicitations for participants were distributed around town in the summer of 2007, with shooting commencing on July 7, 2007. Subjects were asked to bring an item that represented their lives and to respond to a brief questionnaire about their connection to Asheville. Bowen photographed a cross section of over 340 men, women and children.
