  • V o • C of es Colour From the Literary Editor: Poetry is not all about rhyming words and getting down a certain rhyme scheme. It is about feelings. Feelings that the poet feels or feelings that he is trying to evoke. If a poet can get you to feel a certain way or to thing a certain way then his job is done. The good thing is that there is no one particular way to feel or one particular feeling that the poet is trying to evoke. The beauty of poetry comes from the fact the the reader can inter- put the poem the way they want. The poet knows that not everyone can relate to the message he is relaying but the poet knows that there is at least one person out there who can. So when you read these poems which may make you reflect back to days of old, think deeply about yourself, or make you thing about a long lost love, don't just look at their external features. Dig deep within yourself and let the poet invade your mind if only for a second. Joseph Monroe, II 16 "Reincarnation" I touched you hand I saw your face, Heard the soft rumble of your voice I saw you last night in my dreams My heart sped up, My knees became weak, I think I have already been to heaven I've found heaven in you. -Joe S.M.U.V "Just Like You" If I could find someone like you to have for myself, Then all my dreams would come true and there'd be nothing left For me to ever want For me to ever need Never again would I beg Never again would I plead Never againg would I search for a love that was true If only I could find someone like you. -Joe S. M. U.V 'BUT' Great speeches are made, but only great responses dig in lika a garden spade. Great accomplishments are remembered throughout time but without a good education it is not worth a single dime You may strut your stuff thoughout the night but without high self-esteem you're still a horrible sight Help comes to those who need it but only dumb heroes reject it Eternal salvation is yours for the taking but it depends on whose house you're making.
