This brochure, published through the Craft Department of the John C. Campbell Folk School, gives the history of the woodcarving cooperative that started at the school in the early 1930s and later became known as the Brasstown Carvers. The brochure begins with a quote from Allen Eaton and several testimonials from carvers, including John Hall who was well known for carving mules. The brochure continues with the story of how Olive D. Campbell was inspired to teach the local people to carve, the basic process they go through, and the difference it has made to the community. Several editions of this brochure were published. This particular copy features woodcarver John Hall on the cover.
