Officers received.a call from Jackson County.911 regarding an unresponsive student.in. front. of -Harritl Hall. Officers and EMS arrived. The student was transported to Harris Regional Hospital. The _ student was intoxicated. 7:00 P.M. Two male students were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and-simple possession _of marijuana. Officers found them smoking marijuana in a vehicle in the Harrill Hall Parking Lot. ee 25-P.M. Officers responded.to.a.trash.can fire in.a smoking area of Helder Hall. There were cigarettes | - inthe trash can. The fire was a and appears to be accidental. No damage was done except to the trash can. -10:00-P.M. Referred to UIC; During an inventory of a towed vehicle, officers found drug paraphernalia. The owner of the vehicle was referred to University Judicial Council. i February 18, 2004 -12:01.A.M. An employee. reported finding a quantity of beer cans.and.unopened beer outside Belk. 4:03 P.M: University Police officers watched the campus area for suspects who robbed a bank in Sylva. Suspects were later thought to be traveling west on I-40. 4:00 P.M.-University Police officers.assisted Secret Service agents regarding a counterfeit bill that was te. in a narby business establishment. February 17, 2004 9:20 A.M. Officers witnessed a student exit a vehicle in the Ramsey Creek lot and allow the door of the | | vehicle she-was in to strike an adjacent car. Officers sent the student-to contact the owner of the vehicle. 11:09 P.M. Officers.cited a male student for driving.on.the sidewalk. February 15, 2004 4:40 A.M. Officers responded to a report of a male trying to get ina females room in Scott. The male "was the female students boyfriend and she was asleep inside the room and he could not wake her. 9:20 P.M. A student reported.the.door unlocked at the convenience store at Dodson. Officers checked the area and secured the door. February 14, 2004 3:00 A.M. Officers arrested a male student for DWI, driving with license revoked, and a _ provisional licensee violation. February 13, 2004 -7:30-P.M. Officers arrested a male non-student for DWI on NC 107 after being asked to look for the vehicle suspected of DWI. February 10, 2004 5:10 BM. Officers investigated a minor motor vehicle accident in the Track Lot parking area. This was a backing accident. 8:20 P.M. A trapeze artist fell 30 to 40 feet during her act at the circus. She landed on the concrete floor. EMS was called and she was transported to Harris Regional Hospital and later to Mission-St. ~Josephs Hospital in Asheville. Her condition was unavailable this morning. 10:18 P.M. The Jackson County Sheriffs Office requested the assistance of the Western Police to detain a person who was allegedly passing counterfeit money at the Catamount Travel Center Exxon. PEOPLE BECAME IMORTALIZED IN CAMPUS POLICE FILES OVER THE PAST TWO WEEKS: Speeding 48 mph in a 20 mph zone. Driving intoxicated with a revoked license. Driving on the sidewalk. Passing out on the front steps of a dorm after getting wasted. Driving around with a blue light and a revoked license. Throwing fireworks out of your dorm window. Setting a trashcan on fire in the residence hall. Havent we been through enough of this already? Banging on your girlfriends door 5) and waking up everyone else on : the hall but her. Toking up in the parking lot outside of your dorm. Parking illegally and leaving your drug paraphernalia on the dash for all to see.
