LMP Notes Ken Harris Bill Hall I suppose everyone is getting curious about this semester's major concert about now. Well, to be honest, we're not too sure about it yet either, but expect to know by the time this goes to press. You see, thc entertainment business is funny that way-you're neversure about what's going to happen until it docs. Anyway-I'd like to say that we've bid on some great bands but there's simply none out there to hire right now. What can be said is that John Cougar has other things to do (although he told the nation he would be here), we cannot afford Van Halen and Michael Jackson is still laughing. Congratulations to our newest producers-Ann Campbell. Mark McNair, and Dean Wooten. We are- glad you're with us and hope that your experience with IMP is a great one. Student elections are coming up soon, and that means thc selection of a new president and vice-president of Last Minute Productions. There will be some good, qualified candidates in this year's race, so we urge everyone to come out and vote in the SGA elections this April. OPl-Boris Goldovsky. the Moscow-born American who is recognized as one of opera's most articulate champions and perhaps most interprising producer, will bring his touring Goldovsky Opera Theater to Western Carolina Universitv Monday. Feb. 27. for an 8p.m. performance of Guiseppc Verdi's "La Traviata." The Goldovsky Opera performance is being sponsored by WCU's Lectures. Concerys and Exhibitions Program as part of its 1984 series. The performance ot "la I ra\iata"at WCU will be in Hoey Auditorium. Special box office prices will be $10 for adults. $5 lor non-WCU students, and $1 for WCU students with valid identification cards. A 20 percent senior citizen discount is available. For reservations. telephone Dr. Doug Davis at 227-7234. Students who plan to begin taking courses in the Professional Education Sequence(Teaeher Education Program) during Fall Semester. 1984. must make application lor thc Sequence no later than March 20. 1984.
