(Staff photo by James Carter) WCU Soccer Fans To Get Preview Of Fall's Team WCU soccer fans will get an advance look at next fall's squad this S aturday at 2:00 p.m. when Dr. Charles Sch- rader sends the nucleus of his '73 team aganist Brevard College in the Spring Scrimm- 3g3. Gymnastic Team Show And Clinic Scheduled This weekend the WCU Gymnastics Troupe will be at Glene Alpine Jr. High School in Glene Alpine to hold a show and clinic. This will be the second show of the season. On Mar. 27 the Troupe performed at East Henderson High School in Flat Rock. The purpose of these gymnastic shows and clinics is to promote the aims and objectives of gymnastics in North Carolina. Asa leader in North Carolina College gymnastics, Western's troupe will be utilizing their skills toinstructand aid new or unseasoned programs throughout the state. Western Carolina University's tennis team brought its record to 2-3 Tuesday with a sound 9-0 thrashing of the squad from South Carolina State University. Top-seeded WCU netman Bill Robinson was indicative of the team's outstanding performance with his winning sets of 6-0 and 6-3. Sweeping the other five singles matches were Western's Joe Clark, George Pankiw, John Gilbert, Joe Crocker and David LeGrand. Teaming up for victories in the doubles competition were Golf Team Takes Two Playing in 30 degree weather and aiming between snow-flakes, the Western Carolina golf team pushed its season record to 6-4 Tuesday with a pair of wins over UNC-Asheville and Carson-Newman College. In head to head competition at the Maggie Valley Course, the Cat stickmen defeated UNC-Asheville 11 and 1/2 to 9 and 1/2 while CONTINUED Page 8 . . . . Robinson-Clark, Paniw-Le- Grand, and Gilbert, who teamed with alternate Mike Henderson. When asked about the team's progress to date, tennis coach Dr. Ed Vassian revealed that "the first few losses were due to the fact that we were facing top northern touringpowers. Now we are getting into the part of our schedule that is more in our field and of reasonable comparison with our program. We should see more victories in the future."
