  • Tuesday, April 9, 1968 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Page 3 LTC To Present Great Satire "The Importance of Being Earnest" starring Wayland Winstead, Robert Hollister.and Betty Cooper will be presented by The Little Theatre at Cullowhee May 1-4. Other members of the cast include Elizabeth Bundy, Susan Magness, David Hirt, Vernon Smith, Buddy Davis and Kim Stores. The play, considered by many dramatists as one of Oscar Wilde's greatest satires on society, has a setting in the 1890*8. The Little Theatre will attempt to present the play exactly as it would have been produced during the 1890's, including stage settings, background and acting aspects, as well as with the speech common to the time, according to Steve Guimond, stage manager. Miss Josephina Niggli is directing the production and Duane Oliver is designing sets. Following the last performance, May 4, the Little Theatre cast will conduct the annual Awards Night. A black and white design created in printed words is cut from magazine papers and pasted on the construction. Allen Harrill's exhibit is entitled You. It is an all white plaster sculpture in which a threatening arm and hand with pointing finger protrude from a small square wall plaque. But this notion is not only a dream, it is a bitter insult to the students at Howard. Need riders to go somewhere? If you find yourself in one of the above situations, you should contact the Rotaract Ride Co-ordinating Committee. This Ride Co-ordinating Committee is a new service being initiated for students of Western Carolina University by Western's Hotaract service club. Hi purpose is to co-ordinate rides and riders going home on weekends by clearing them through one central checking area, namely Stillwell ticket booth. For example, if a student needs a ride to Charlotte lea\ ing at 4:3(1 I'ridav afternoon. and another person needs riders to Charlotte at the same time, it will be possible to co-ordinate these two through this new committee. Members of the Rotaract Club hope that this new service will find a permanent place on Western's campus. Students interested in signing up for this program should go to the ticket booth on the first floor of Stillwell building.
