  • Page 16 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN 1967 Christmas Edition Intramural Report 1361 Participate In Fall Intramural Program The final report on the intramural program during fall quarter is in and it is evident that the fall activities were a- campus title. Third Robertson finished on top of the freshman American League but only after turning back a tough second Moore south team which finished second. 45 games were played in Uie football program and only two were lost by forfeit. 26 teams were involved in competition with 1361 participants divided among them. Five programs in individual competition were offered and while participation in them was not heavy, several exciting games took place. John Morgan captured the fall tennis championship while Craig Folgeman was runner up. Jim Barnwell emerged victorious in badminton competition and Bruce Byrd was second In table tennis Don Blanton took the title while Jim Bingham claimed second honors, Larry Morgan won the pocket billiards championship and Byrd again trailed in second place. In addition to these competitive sports, five students participated in Uie Swim and Stay- Fit program. Intramural Activities continue this winter with campus com- petition slated in volleyball, basketball and water polo as well as individual activities, THE HARDWARI. IS lll'.NUVS.. Kappa Alpha held off Uie rush of Delta Sigma Phi during regular season play to capture the Fraternity League title but found that they hadn't heard the last of Uie Delta Sig team. In the finals of the double elimination tournament for the campus crown, favored lv.\ found itself facing none other than Delta Sigma Phi Kappa Alpha came out on top again but not before they were given a scare bv upset minded Delta Sig.
