McKINLEY has had a distinguished career with one of Americas major industrial companies, culminating in his election as president of Texaco, Inc., on April 27, 1971. He received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M. S. in Chem- istry from the University of Alabama in 1940 and 1941. A registered Profess- ional Engineer, he joined Texaco in 1941. After serving as an army officer in World War II, he began his progress upward in the company. He was elected Vice President in charge of Petrochemical Operations in 1967 and became Senior Vice President for Worldwide Refining, Petrochemicals, and Supply and Distri- bution in 1970.
