This 50-page scrapbook was assembled by Joan Brooks who moved from Candler to Cullowhee, North Carolina in 1954 to attend Western Carolina College. The scrapbook documents her freshman year at WCC from 1954-1955. The scrapbook includes pictures of Brooks’s experiences as a student as well as clippings describing student life and athletics at WCC. Brooks was working towards a Bachelor’s degree in English and Social Science.
