A note from Frances Goodrich reads "Piece of old coverlet. Woven by Robert Dickson in of Ireland. Gift of Mrs. R. D. Bedinger, his granddaughter." The heirloom traveled from one country to another, where it was treasured for its age and workmanship. It is a linen warp with a navy blue wool weft. This coverlet was likely woven in the early 1800s.
