The wood room has no shower bath, but six baths with hot and cold water, have been installed in the basement under No. 2 Sulphite pulp drying machine and these are for the use of any employee. It is specifically understood that the baths in the digester rooms and evaporator rooms are for exclusive use for the men working in these departments. A slab Chipper, of the most modern type, has been ordered from the Carthage Machine company, of Carthage, N. Y., and is to be installed in the Sulphite wood room. It is hoped by the use of this machine, which is designed especially for the purpose, that spruce slabs can be converted into chips of a uniform size and reasonably free from slivers. A "Safety Expert" recently visited the plant and, in the absence of Mr. Pounsford, was left in the custody of "Dan" Wild who conducted hin\through the mill. He came through without serious mishap though he left a portion of his coat tail hanging on a nail in a post in the wood room. Despite this accident he was overheard stating that he "liked the Log."
