THE FALL OF SINGAPORE \Ty ITH salvo after salvo of bombardments at Singapore, the sun was dimmed for days. On the dawn of February 9, the Japanese Troops crossed the Johore Channel. The fighting between the Japanese and the British Troops were fierce and decisive. The enemy's first line of defense was broken but the fortress on the Butikima Hills had to be taken. The fighting spirit of the Japanese to crush the British at all costs won the game. The Butikima Hills fortress gave up their fight on February 11. The photo shows our final thrush into the Bi_"li- kima Hills.
