Samuel Logan McGuire

This undated photograph shows Samuel Logan McGuire (1852-1936). He lived in the Norton community of Jackson County and, among other things, kept up the community saw mill, ran a grist mill and a cording machine, and with the help of his sons, he made and delivered coffins free of charge. One of his five sons was Wayne Patrick McGuire (1883-1978) who practiced dentistry in Sylva, North Carolina with his wife Daisy Zachary McGuire (1880-1980).
