Pink Beds reconstruction in progress
-
A worker using a hand tool is preparing wood to be used in the reconstruction of the Biltmore Forest School in Pink Beds. Piles of lumber sit behind the worker, and the corner of one of the reconstructed buildings is seen to the left of the image. Reconstruction of the school's buildings began in 1967 and the site was designated as "The Cradle of American Forestry" by Congress in 1968. In 1974, the site was added to the National Register of Historic Places.
