  • ■" heave cars and follow route up Forney ("reek road to Junction Camp (2,842 ft., elev.). a Park Service tool house, 6.0 miles from Park Boundary. Take either of two trails: (A) Up Forney Creek along old R.R. grade to Buekhorti Branch. Turn right and follow branch to top of Forney Ridge. Then turn left and follow Forney Ridge to Andrews Bald. Distance from Junction Camp, 4.5 miles. Class B Trail; fair. (B) Across creek from Junction Camp follow a trail southwest, upper portion on old R.R. grade, to Board Camp Branch and with branch to Board Camp Gap (3,900 ft., elev.) on Forney Ridge. On Forney Ridge turn left on trail and follow up ridge to Andrews Bald. Distance, 5.5 miles. Class B Trail; fair, but steep along Forney Ridge. Andrews Bald is believed to have been named for Anders Thompson, one of the fust white men to hunt and camp there. The feature of Andrews Bald is the grassy bald spot, many Sunset at Indian Gap, Sugarland Mountain in background. 39
