Description

Conservation foresters work with landowners free of charge to assure good management practices, creating healthy and profitable forests for the future. In this photograph, Tom Wynne, Champion forester, teaches Future Farmers of Pendleton School, S. C., use of the "Biltmore stick" in measuring standing timber. Tom has worked closely with vocational agriculture teacher R. M. Jones (far left) and this FFA Chapter in the development of their school forest, which has won a number of top state awards.
