  • This photograph of a birthday party for Elizabeth (Betty) Barber (1938-2010) was taken at her home on Russ Avenue in Waynesville and is from film that was brought to Sherrill’s Studio for developing, but the prints were never picked up. The name written on the unclaimed envelope is Barber. Betty, standing far left is the daughter of Richard Neely Barber Jr. and Elizabeth Barber of Barber's Orchard. Ann Prevost is in the front left in a black dress and Jeff Reece is in the front right. Sherrill’s studio was founded by George Dexter Sherrill (1879–1931) in 1902 and was the first photography studio in Haywood County.
