  • wcu_travel-106.jp2
  • The Grove Park Inn, a premier Asheville, North Carolina resort, offers vistas of Asheville and the Blue Ridge Mountains. In this view of the city's skyline from the 1920s, attributed to George Masa (1881-1933), visible from left to right are the 1903 Buncombe County Courthouse with its cupola (torn down in the late 1920s); the Jackson Building on Pack Square; the Langren Hotel, on the corner of Broadway and College Street; the Vanderbilt Hotel; and the new Battery Park Hotel, built in 1924. In the foreground is the Grove Park Inn golf course.
