The 64-page booklet is a stop-by-stop guide that follows the rail line from Salisbury, North Carolina west through Hickory and Marion to Asheville. Trips along branch lines leading into Asheville, North Carolina are also included from Spartanburg, South Carolina; Morristown, Tennessee; and from the far western North Carolina, departing from Murphy. Asheville is described as a “superb national resort” and the “commercial center of western North Carolina.”
