  • WCU kicks Laura Odom Editor-in-Chief This year Western Carolina University celebrates its 125 anni- versary. To honor this event the university has planned a yearlong celebration, which was kicked-off on Jan. 28. . The event was sched- uled to begin at 12:25 -p.m., but at 9 a.m. the UC .Grandroom and Illu- sions were bustling with people. Many people worked together to set up the runway for the fash- ion show and the tables that showcased free merchandise, histori- cal, information, food, and different university groups. There were peo- ple from the chancellors office, Hunter Librarys special collects, athlet- ics, IT, and many other departments. The event also included cheerlead- ers and the pep band. Melissa Wargo, co- chair of the Steering Committee and WCU chief of staff, Today is fun, a sort of pep-rally | type of event. _ According to Wargo, the kickoff event and the 125 celebration are made up of hundreds of people who work on many different commit- tees to make the events happen.
