September 27, 2000 SPORTS 15 SertfoS^slM&rgiVai fc-fHe WcW-fHePweSfciply uill ^louf" Now that WWF Unforgiven has come and gone, wrestling fans are left with more questions than answers. We still don't know who ran over Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kurt Angle and HHH still have problems in regard to Stephanie. To top off things, ex-ECW, ex-WCW superstar Raven, made his WWF debut on Unforgiven. He's aligning himself with fellow ECW star Tazz, and forming yet another heel tag-team. One of the big highlights of Unforgiven had to be the coronation of The Hardy Boyz as the new tag champs. After an incredible cage match, these two Cameron, North Carolina natives waxed the floor with Edge and Christian. The next night on TNN's WWF Raw debut, these two teams engaged in a rematch in a ladder match. These guys just about killed each other both times. It's very rare that you can see such a great match on a Monday night. Usually, matches of this caliber are reserved for pay-per-views. The Rock retained the World Title, but Kane, Undertaker, and Benoit are still hot on his heels for the gold. Jeri cho and X-Pac are still feuding, but hopefully Jericho will be pushed for a title shot. However, the moment WWF fans have been waiting for almost a year came to be Sunday night. Stone Cold Steve Austin made his comeback with a vengeance. Basically, Austin was taking names and kicking a$$! Angle, Shane, Blackman, an announcer, and even Just Joe ate big boots and stunners just because they were in the way of his investigation. The same held true Monday night. Austin continued his investigation by wailing on Angle, Benoit, and Steven Regal. WCW, of course, was lacking in the entertainment department Monday night. The only highlight of this crap-fest was the Sting/Lance Storm match. What made it great was the fact that it ended with a clean finish. No Russo butting in, no Nash or anyone getting in the way, just two guys from start to finish. Speaking of finish, one of the members of the Insane Clown Posse, Shaggy 2 Dope, was almost seriously hurt by a botched power bomb by Mike Awesome on top of the 70s bus. I'm surprised Shaggy wasn't seri ously injured. In PWF news, the PWF Executive Staff decided that the TV Title will be changed to the Not-So-Heavyweight Title (and being the not-so-heaviest of the not-so-heavyweights, this title has me written all over it). The winner of this title will be decided by a double- elimination tournament starting this Wednesday, September 27 and continuing until October 8, at the first pay-per- view, PWF "Fall Out" Wrestlers who lose in the first round Wednesday will still have a chance to be crowned "Not-So-Heavy." Also to be decided at the PPV will be the tag-team championship. The number one contender, Ghetto Connection featuring Ghetto D and Thug will take on current champions, Hook and Dust. Speaking of the tag-team champions, they were part of a very unusual match last Wednesday night on Edge. Taking on Beast, Hook was blindfolded and had to take directions from Dust, who had his "ladies" at his side. The match ended up in a melee, with other teams entering the ring in PWF fashion. Other matches last Wednesday included Brett "the Hitman" Knight win- E2\*S2*iKm& Update: THE FLAG FOOTBALL AND FLOOPBALL RULES CLINIC will occur Wednesday, September 27 at 4:00 Pm in room 132 of Reid Gym. It's still under construction, but is being updated with pictures of recent events, wrestler bios, videos, and information about Western's own wrestling federation. Servo Sez: This really isn't a quote, but what happened Monday night after Raw went off the air. After Benoit head butted Steph, Angle and Benoit started to leave the ring. The Rock told them that he and HHH weren't done in Penn State just yet and an impromptu tag match between HHH/Rock vs. Benoit/Angle ensued! The Game and Rocky even delivered People's Elbows to both opponents at the same time. It's about time HHH went face, and the lucky fans at Penn State got a preview.
