Leatherwood Staff Writer Happy Cole, celebrated comedian and actor, will include Cullowhee among 300-plus scheduled appearances this year. A native of Tampa, Fl., Cole was recently honored by the Just For Laughs International Comedy Festival in Montreal, standing out among the hundreds of talented performers there. . It might be tempting to think Quebec was too busy laughing to secede from Canada this year. Cole's career has flourished in the past three years with television spots on various independent networks, and more prominently, on Fox's "Seaquest," NBC's "Friday Night" and his own series pilot, "Momz Home." Cole's breadbasket, however, has always been the Southeast, where he has been booked at many clubs and universities. He first found professional prominence in 1991 when he was voted Comedian of the year in Florida, noted for his expressive face and quick delivery. Comedian and actor Happy Cole will peform at the UC Club later this month. Happy Cole will be WCU's special guest at the University Center Club on February 26, at 9 p.m. Tickets are only $1 for students and $3 for visitors to the campus.
