I o this end. a new course. "Regional I opies: rhe Caribbean and Central America." vull he offered on the W CI campus during spring semester I985. I he course, pal t ol a series ol regional studies, will he taught b> Jell Neff. WCl associate professor of Geography. " I he course w ill take a geographic approach to studying not just ihe natural and environmental aspects of the countries, but the economic and political and cultural ingredients that give the countries their character." said Neff. who has been to Jamaica, the Bahamas and Mexico. Ihe course will attempt to balance the myths and tacts about t h e s e n e i g h b o ring countries, including the images ol islands m the sun. steel bands, tropical breezes and cruise ship romances vs. those ol poverty, revolutions, corruption, death squads and overpopulation. Tickets to WCU vs. Marshall Game Available District 15 of the State Employment Association of North Carolina (SEANC) is selling tickets to the Western Carolina University vs. Marshall University Southern Conference football game on Saturday, Nov. 3, to raise money for its district scholarship fund. Tickets for the game are normally $9, but can be purchased from SEANC members for $7. Student tickets also are available at the regular $4 price. By purchasing tickets from the state employment association, fans can save $2 off the gate price and half of the money will go into the state- employees scholarship fund. Last year, a student from Sylva- Webster High School and one from East Henderson High School won the district SEANC scholarships. For tickets, contact Mildred Wilson or Carolyn Wiggins at 227-7436 or 227-7437, or drop by Stillwell Building, Room 208, on the WCU campus. Mr. Breece began as a hot-stamp operator and worked for a short while in quality control and inventory. fie did such an outstanding job that alter eight weeks he was promoted to supervisor. As supervisor he was responsible for employees on his shift, preparing daily production sheets and making sine that all operations were going smoothly. Mi.
