It is an organization that is spnsored by Kiwanis International, and which maintains self-direction. Winter quarter of this school year, lead by the efforts of Steve Robinson, Steve Wilburn, and David Montgomery, the Circle K Club was re-established on the campus of WCU. With the help of the Cullowhcc-Svlva Kiwanis Club, the Circle K Club is firmly established and ready to render its services to the surrounding area. The WCU Circle K Club has already compiled an impressive reputation with the election of Steve Robinson as Lt. Governor of the Carolinas District, and the club has now grown to a membership of over 25. Al Bloeser of the Cullowhee-Sylva Kiwanis has played an important part in the clubs beginning. He has provided special initiative for making the Circle K Club a better organization here on the WCU campus. Among the projects and services undertaken by the new club is an Easter egg hunt given to the Kindergarten children at Camp Lab School and help given at the recent math contest at WCU held for area high school students. In a joint effort, the club now plans to assist the Kiwanis Club in placing flags in the Sylva area on special holidays throughout the year. The Circle K Club extends a personal invitation to all people interested in the services of Circle K to attend one of the meetings. The meetings are held every Monday night at 6:30 in Killian. room 111.
