  • 8 Tuesday, April 17,. 1972 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Ski Club has planned secnd annual European ski club News Briefs The W.C.C. Ski Club in conjunction with Student Activities has completed arrangements for its 2nd annual European Ski Trip. The ski region is comprised of three small towns: Lech, Oberlech, and Zurs in Austria. A gigantic network of cable railways and lifts enables the skier to get from Arlebergcenter to another In an uniter- rupted succession. This ski session offers a to-- tal of over thirty miles of ski runs, and 23 lifts. The ski schools of Arlberg are world famous. The town of Lech is located in the western finger of Austria in the Vorarlbergdistrict. The borders of Germany, Switzerland, Italy and Liechtenstein are all within forty miles. Departure for the trip is De- cember 10, 1972 and return is December 22, 1972. The Alpengasthof Omesberg is a good first class hotel providing a range of services for the skiers, including dining room table service for meals and lounge for apres ski and is located five minutes walking distance from all lifts and the center of the village. This year's accomodations are much superior to the stu dent class hotel that was used last year. Arrangements for air travel are provided by Wilcox Travel, Inc. of Asheville via SWISSAIR. There is a ski school for all levels. The cost for the trip is SllOO.OO based upon the minimum of forty and maximum of seventy persons, and current monetary valuation. AH transportation, from New York to Lech and return, accommodations in double or triple bedded rooms at the hotel, breakfast and dinner daily, all area lift tickets, December 12-20, ski schook, ski proficiency test, and overnight lodging in Zurich are included in the costs. Items not included are passport fees, insurance, lunches, transportation to New York, rental of ski equipment, and other items of purely personal nature. All payments are to be made payable to "Western Travel Group". Deposit $60 due with reservation; Payment of $100 due June 1, 1972; Payment of $100 due August 1, 1972; Payment of the balance due October 1, 1972. Rap session to be held tomorrow The next admin;strauve Rip Session will be held tomorrow- night on the second floor of the university center. The Student Development Staff will be present, and other members of the admisistratian of the university have been invited to attend by Student Development,, The staff urges all students with questions, gripes, criticisms, or statements to attend. Dean of Student Activities Robert C„ Dawson said, "We of the Student Development Staff feel that these rap sessions are important both to the students and to us, but unless students attend it will not do anyons good,," The Rap Session will begin at 8 p.m. torn-arrow on the center's second floor and will continue until 10 p.m. FLASH CADILLAC AND THE CONTINENTAL KIDS brought back a little of the fifties with their greased back hair, saddle oxfords, white socks and rock 'n' roll music. COFFEEHOUSE The Cniversity Center Board is sponsoring a Coffeehouse, Wednesday, April 19th and Thursday, April 20th, at 8 p.m. in the Snack Bar. RIBBON OF SAN FRANCISCO, professional coffeehouse entertainers, will perform both nights, plus a cartoon festival Wednesday night and a combined W. C. Fields, Keystone Cops, and l^aureland Hardy film festival Thursday night. Coffee and cookies will be provided both nights. Admission is 50C without Cniversity Center Activities Card WCAT Beginning this week, WCAT is expanding it's live nightime broadcast from midnight to 2 a.m. So for the best in music to go to sleep by, listen to the "Graveyard Excursion" with Captain America on Tuesday and Thursday nights. SPORTSMAN SHOW The second annual Sportsman Show sponsored by the UCB will be held April 18, 19, 20 on the UC lawn from 10:00am till dark each night. The show will feature: Suzuki, Honda, Bridgestone and Triumph Motorcycles; Arrow and Prowler Campers plus much more. BSUL MEETING The BSUL will meet tonight in the Catamount Room at 7:00 pm. MARINE CORPS The Marine Corps Officer Selection Officer will hold a meeting Tuesday eveningat 7:30 in the Catamount room. All WCU Officer Candidates are encouraged to attend.
