  • 2 THE WESTERN CAROLINIAN Thursday, March 4, 1971 Ciruna members visit Miami for Model U.1N Twelve WCU studants left campus yesterday to represent Czechoslovakia, Rumania, and Jordan in the Miami Invitational Model United Nations in Miami, Florida. The twelve CIRUNA members will make up three of the 65 delegations being sent from APO sponsors 'Ocean's 11' To provide the students at Western Carolina University with more weekend entertainment on campus. Alpha Phi Omega, National Service Fraternity, is sponsorlnga series of movies in Hoey Auditorium on Saturday nights. This week's move is OCEAN'S 11 starring Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Peter Law- ford, Cesar Romero, Joey Bishop, and Red Skelton. OCEAN'S 11 Is the story of a strangely assorted group of men called together for the hold-up of five Las Vegas casinos. Admission to OCEAN'S 11 is only 50«! and the Box Office opens at 7:30 p.m. with the movie beginning at 8 p.m., Sat. night, March 6, in Hoey Auditorium. more than 30 coheges and universities. The Model United Nations is a UN composed of students, nothing more. There are General Assembly meetings, Security Council meetings and various UN committee meetings. WCU's Jordanian delegation will lead the Arab bloc. Leo Snow, President of CIRUNA, was elected Vice-President of the 1970 Mid-South Mod el United Nations last year. WCU's delegates will attend four days of intense activity, voting on issues as their coi ntry would vote, At the end of the Model UN, a "best delegation" will be chosen from observation of the delegates actions in the committee mee- tings and in the General Assembly. CIRUNA movie Thursday, March 4, CIRUNA will sponsor a free film on "Will Democracy Succeed in Germany?" The movie gives an explanation of West Germany's pre- sent political structure, and how the politicians have keptherout of the limelight. This film will be shown in McKee 118 at 7;30. All are welcome to attend. WINTER QUARTER PLEDGES of Tau Kappa Epsllon are shown presenting the TKE Sweetheart, Barbara Benton, with carnations. Morris., Rap sessions begin on March 10 Beginning March 10 and on every second Wednesday of the month for the remainder of the year, there will be an "Admin~ istrative Rap Session" at 8:00 p.m. on the second floor of the University Center. The first of these will be on March 10. This type of rap session .vill be replacing the old convocation and is an attempt to let students ask ques ions of, and seek information from, administrators in an informal atmosphere.
