  • GEO. S. POWELL, President. DR. C P AMBLER, Sec. and Treas. Cl)e Appalachian National 0atH Association 0 ^. fl). TBot 384. as&etulle, is. c, July 24th, 1901, Sen. J. C. Pritchard, Marshall, N. C. My dear Sir:- While in Asheville, Secretary Wilson expressed himself as 0 believing that it would be greatlyJm the interest of the Appalachian National Park movement for our organization to continue fnr th~ f jHt and /& keep up an/ active and aggressive campaign. As you know we have had considerable trouble in raising the necessary funds for carrying on the work and lately there has been an under-current of thought among the people that the work of our Association was accomplished and that further endeavor on our part was unnecessary. We at this time want to issue more literature covering especially ishat has been accomplished up to date and also to secure photographs of the more in-accessible parts of the mountains, In attempting to secure funds we find that the same come in slowly here in Asheville and believe that if we could get an expression of opinion from both you and Senator Moody to the effect that the work of this Association should conflinue, it would insure us more prompt response. Our sole aim is to see the ultimate successful accomplishment of this Park purpose and if we can further aid your plans are ready to do so. We would be greatly pleased to receive from you a statement as to what you think of continuing our organization. 'ery truly yours, (k) fv Su.. (fattr- Secretary.
