  • Amy begins the show with her story “Sand Storm in Texas,” telling of some of her experiences in Wichita Falls, Texas, as a member of the U.S. Air Force. “Sight of the Lord” accompanies the story. Doreyl once again hosts Rob Bell of the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area on Creative Corner. She and Rob talk about the new website for the Blue Ridge Music Trails and the features it offers, the grant work he does with the Blue Ridge National Heritage Area, and his organization’s efforts to promote heritage tourism. The interview is followed by “Sail Along Blackbird” by Henry Queen. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy continues her talk with Lara Sanders Chew of Otto. Lara talks about the wide variety of edible wild plants that can be found in western North Carolina. “Boil Them Cabbage Down” by Kort & Beth McCumber follows the interview. On Black Roots of Appalachia, Victoria shares some of her memories of family Easter celebrations in Cullowhee. Her story is followed by “How Great Thou Art” played by Jo Northup and Richard Birt. On Down Another Road, Judy talks with Tom Godleski of Buncombe County. He talks about his love of true stories and the importance of oral history. “Sugar Foot Rag” by Vance Trull follows the interview. The show closes with “Crying Holy” by the Hominy Valley Boys.
