  • Amy’s story “Grandpa Told Me Stories,” recounts how her grandfather inspired her and told her stories about the mountains, local culture and history. (Background music: “A Rose in a Fire”). Doreyl’s guest on Creative Corner is Brenda Deyton of Robbinsville. She talks about her life and banking career in Robbinsville, and how she came to write a book on personal finance. The interview is followed by “Moose” by Banjo Mania. Amy continues her conversation with Phyllis Fox on Stories of Mountain Folk. Phyllis talks about her experience volunteering with various organizations in Jackson County, such as Harris Hospital and the Jackson County Republican Party, among others. “Lost All My Money But a Two Dollar Bill” by Earl Taylor & Jim McCall follows the interview. On Stories of the Cherokee, Shawn Crowe is introduced as the new host of this segment, and he shares some Cherokee stories about witches. Guest Jerry Wolfe tells a story of a witch encountered by his father and uncle near Birdtown. The accompanying music is performed on a Cherokee flute by Bo Taylor. On Down Another Road, Judy shares stories of her Aunt Louise and Uncle Max, who recently passed away. Interspersed in the segment are recordings of the Rhodes family singing “Silent Night” and “Blessed Assurance.” The show closes with “Old Friend” by Terry Edwards
