Amy’s story “The Mule Cussing Rock” begins the show, and it is about her grandmother’s struggle with her mule. The story is accompanied by “Almost Home” by Randy Petersen. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with Doris Hunter of Franklin, who talks about her artistic interests and how she learned to make birds out of natural objects, such as pine cones and driftwood and the success that her craft has brought her, and she also talks about the local art exhibits she has organized in the area. The story is followed by “Free Little Bird” by the Valley River Boys. On Stories of Mountain Folk Amy continues her talk with Buffy Queen. She talks about her childhood and education and her life as an actress and producer, as well as her work in her community. “Singing My Song” by Julia Thompson follows the interview. Victoria’s guest on Black Roots of Appalachia is Madeleine Watt, who has lived in Georgia, Texas and North Carolina. She talks about African-American people who had an influence on her as a child and formed her character. The interview is followed by “Jewels” by the Butterpats. On Down Another Road, an interview with Martin Cook from April 7, 2012, is rebroadcast. The interview is followed by “Jesus is Coming Soon” by the Inspirations, and “Old Joe Clark” by the Pic & Play Dulcimer Group ends the show
