  • Amy’s story “Gathering God’s Beauty” begins the show, which is about growing up in Tuckasegee and picking “creases,” wild strawberries and polk salad for her mother. The story is accompanied by “Edelweiss” by Jo Northrup and Richard Birt. On Creative Corner, Doreyl talks with Dossie Ransom III, who is a trumpet student at Western Carolina University. He talks about his life as a student and his career plans. “Marching Trumpets” by British Brass follows the interview. Amy’s guests on Stories of Mountain Folk are LV and Mary Mathis of Tuckasegee. They talk about their life and living in Jackson County and also talk about their families and their history. The interview is followed by a recording of them singing “Oh What Love.” On Stories of the Cherokee, Robert talks with Josie Long, who manages the Cherokee Welcome Center. She talks about her life in Cherokee and also talks about what her work entails. “Quail Dance” by James "Bo" Taylor follows the interview. On Down Another Road, Judy talks with Joe & Peggy Swicegood. They are the owners of Little Pigs Barbecue in Asheville, and they talk about their lives and how they have lived. “Foggy Mountain” follows the interview, and the show ends with “Dooley” by the Compost Mountain Boys.
