  • Amy’s story, “Moonlight in the Carolinas,” shares memories of her father and the last song he wrote. “Carolina Moon” by Maureen McGovern follows the segment. Doreyl’s guests on Creative Corner are Emily Frances Maesar, Sean Botzenhart and Murphy Dillow, WCU film students, who give us a glimpse as to why they chose to go into the film industry. The McDowell Family’s rendition of “Orange Blossom Special” concludes the interview. On Stories of Mountain Folk, Amy talks with Frankabelle Scruggs from Cowee Valley, who tells us about quilting and using the proceeds from the sale of the quilts for scholarships. “Lend a Helping Heart” by the Smoky Mountain Boys follows the segment. Nicole’s guest on Apple Butter is Kendra Coker, who tells us about volunteering with the Heritage Alive! Mountain Youth Talent Contests. “Your Love is Like a Flower” by the Rye Holler Boys concludes the interview. On Down Another Road, Judy’s interview is a continuation from last week with guest Rachel Rudi, talking about shape note music. She demonstrates some of her favorite songs, including “Rousing Shapes.” The closing song is “Gospel Medley” by McKayla Reece.
