Shin Seiki: Bagong Araw. New Era

Item’s are ‘child’ level descriptions to ‘parent’ objects, (e.g. one page of a whole book).

THE COCONUT INDUSTRY C TATISTICS of recent years show that the Philippine Islands enjoyed first place among the major copra and coconut oil exporting regions but that cannot be said to be of a very healthy state because nearly 90% of the export went to the United States for being benefitted by trade agreements. The War of Greater East Asia has brought about a complete change and a serious problem is confronting the people of the Philippines. The reciprocating trade arrangements with the United States is gone and will never come back. It is highly doubtful and speculative whether there will be another post-bellum copra boom. Something must be done to adjust the coconut industry to the new situation. And, it can also be gainsaid that about 80% of the world coconut is produced within the Greater East Asia Co-Prosperity Sphere. The whole warehouse full of copra which is to be sent to the factory. Pagbabalat ng niyog. Removing the Husks. Ang balat ng niyog ay ginagawang banig. The fiber from the coconut husks are woven into mats.
