C, My dear Senator: - A party of Ohio capitalists now making a tour of the Soiith stopped over here day before yesterday and 1 wa* fortunate e.nouf'fi to get them interested in the Park measure, 1 have just received copies of letters and a resolution they have passed at Charlotte after leaving here. The letters are addressedrato Senator Foraker, Gen. W, B, Shattock and 'ion. J, H, Bromwell and are signed by Mr. Lucien Wulsin. The resolution is signed by twenty prominent business men of Cincinnati who made up the party, I will mail you copies of the letters and resolution Monday, as I write this hurriedly thinking the Information rnny \)% of some use between no then. The Appalachian National Park Association drafted a number of petitions and resolutions favoring the establishment of a national forest reserve and/or a national park in the southern Appalachians. Petitions were circulated among citizens and then presented with resolutions to various state legislators. By 1900, almost 5000 petitions had been signed, and 210,000 pieces of printed matter had been sent out by the association.
