Dear Sir:- I understand that the Federal Government has been investigating the subject of water powers applicable for electric power transmission purposes in the mountain regions of Western North Carolina and I am interested to know whether there is any published report on the subject now available. I have visited Sapphire and am somewhat familiar with the Toxaway country and naturally the movement being pushed by your Association appeals to me. I would esteem it a very great favor if you could forward me such circulars or other published material as you have for distribution and would like to know what the prospects are for carrying the scheme of a g'-eat National Park in the Appalachian Mountains through Congress. What part of the range is considered best adapted to meet the requirements of the project you have in view? Have matters proceeded sufficiently far so that any particular locality has been agreed, upon for the Park? Appreciating the courtesy of an early reply and any information you may be able to give me regarding the proposed Park and the subject of water powers mentioned above, I remain Yours very sincerely,
