My Dear 3ir!~ Your favor of the 1st together with the photos came duly to hand and would have net with an earlier acknowledgment hut from an attack of grip which laid hold of me two weeks ago, I thank you warmly for the photos; they are very beautiful and interesting and I hope eventually to get teem all used as illustrations of articles on the proposed Park* As you requested, I have acknowledged to Mr* J, P. Hayes, Sapphire, N. C*, the receipt of the photos* I have just gotten off the article to the editor of Harper's Weekly and am much in hopes it will he accepted; but if.not I will probably be able to place it elsewhere. I will let you know in due time where the various articles are published and the dates of the periodicals, I expect the one for Recreation will appear in the April issue of that magazine. I see marked on the map of the proposed Park the "Cherokee Indian Reservation"* fill you kindly tell me whether there are Indians still living upon that reservation* and if not, then how long since they left and where they went?
