James Terrill Webster NC Dear Friend Some time before I came [west] I wrote you about going to Asheville with me to see [Dad] Hille and about making me a little to the Ingram [tract] of land. You can do as well without me as though I was there nor I wish you would have the attended to and I will release Thomas from the whole and I hold against him. You fully [understand] the whole matter + Doct Hill[ion] will be [governed] by what you say in the matter so I hope you will be kind enough to have the matter fixed up for I [want] is off my

In this letter of December 9, 1882, R. C. Washburn writes to James W. Terrell reminding him he wants to visit Doctor Hill in Asheville and invest in part of the Ingram land. Mr. Washburn intends to release his holds against William Holland Thomas. He has acclimated to living in California and wishes to visit Cherokee, North Carolina next spring.
