  • The article and accompanying photograph appeared in The Chattanooga Times on Thursday, October 3, 1935. It is a group shot of the members and friends of the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild. The group gathered for the guild’s semiannual meeting and an exhibition. Ashland Farm was the home of Mrs. Z. Cartter Patten (fourth from right). On either side of Mrs. Patten stands Marguerite Butler of the John C. Campbell Folk School and Allen Eaton of the Russell Sage Foundation. Other important Craft Revival leaders in the photograph include: Helen Dingman, Clementine Douglas, May Stone, Lucy Morgan, O. J. Mattil, and Louise Pitman.
