Item
  • Mountain Milestones was a newsletter published by Penland School of Handicrafts as a vehicle for disseminating news about craft classes at Penland, the activities of the local community, and general information about the region. Two issues were published in 1932 and then the newsletter was not published again until 1945. This issue begins the resumption of the publication and contains information about classes and related activities during the summer of 1945. There also is information about the Fall meeting of the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild held at Penland September 11-13, 1945 and an announcement about Penland's first winter session. Howard C. Ford, also known as Toni Ford, illustrated the newsletter and probably wrote the articles.
